Nov 2011 Update

Hi all,

A bit late on our June update. Summer got the best of me! The Maddens completed their 5th annual Survivors' Walk and Celebration. Another beautiful event with a great turnout and lots to celebrate.

Chris is doing great; he's in his 4th year of remission and enjoying life with Anne, Liam (almost 3) and Connor (1.5).

Liam and Graham completed their fourth walk and Connor his 2nd!

Thanks to all of our friends and family who have supported Chris and the Madden family. Your past support, good energy and prayers were invaluable. Please keep sending your good energy and prayers Chris's way!

Wishing all of you a healthy, happy holiday season.

Chris is doing really well. He is now three years in remission and he and Annie are expecting their second son in July!

Liam is 17 months and this was his 3rd walk. He's very committed!

Thanks, again, to the Johnsons and O'Connors for coming out and supporting Team Madden.

And thanks to all of Chris' friends and family for their support, good energy, and prayers. Keep sending that good energy/ prayers Chris' way.

Take care and hope life is good in your part of the world.

June 2009 Update

Hey all,

Hope this email finds all of you doing well. It's been awhile since the last post. Team Madden just completed our 3rd Survivor's Walk this past Sunday! Chris is doing really well and this year's walk was even more special because Chris and Anne's new baby, Liam, did the walk with his Dad and Mom!

Liam's cousin Graham did the walk for the first time (ex-utero, that is) and Aiden O'Brien is batting 1000 as he did the walk for the second time in his 2nd year! The babes were out in full force.

Thanks to the O'Connor cousins for rallying again this year--your good cheer and energy is always appreciated!

Another special part of this year's walk was that our friend Bob Winkelmann and his wife, Karen, were able to join us as well. Bob is celebrating several years of remission after a stem cell transplant that saved his life.

Please remember to join the marrow registry if you have not already done so, and please continue to encourage friends and family members to do the same. It is so easy to do and you can save someone's life if you donate your stem cells or your child's cord blood.(See links at right for more info).

Thanks again to all of our friends and family for your support, thoughts and prayers the past few years.
Take care,

The Maddens

June Update

Hey all,

Just a quick update to let you know that Chris is doing great. He is working full time and has just started at a new firm, which he is really excited about.

Many of Chris's friends and family met up in Chicago to walk with Chris and Annie in the Survivor's Celebration Walk. This year's walk was particularly special since Chris and Anne were able to do the walk with all of us. There were thirty of us in total, so it was a great turnout for "Team Madden."

Anne is also doing really well, and she and Chris are keeping busy this summer with work, lots of house projects and hopefully a few trips up to Door County.

Chris continues to get his monthly check ups to monitor his blood counts and the doctor is really happy with how he is doing.

We hope all of you are doing well, and please keep your positive energy, thoughts, and prayers coming Chris's way!

Thanks again for all of your support.

April update

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update:

Chris is doing really well. He's been back at work since Feb 1 and is feeling good. Lucas and Margaret came up from Cabo and stayed for two weeks with Chris and Anne, and it was a great time for everyone.

Chris and Sonia have started to hit the golf course now that spring is hopefully here to stay, and we're all looking forward to spending some time up in Door when summer comes.

Thanks again for all the support. Please keep sending your positive energy, thoughts and prayers Chris's way.

Take care,

Mina

general update

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know how Chris is doing these days. He finished his chemo before Xmas and has had an excellent recovery. Chris and Annie celebrated a low-key Xmas with family and now his counts are almost back to normal and he is feeling very good. He is working out--biking and walking and he is itching to get back to work. Dr. Tallman is really happy with how Chris did with his chemotherapy treatments and said they would monitor Chris's health through routine blood counts.

We are so happy that C is doing so well and looking foward to a great year. Chris is making plans to start working again in the next month or so. I think the initial plan is to start half-time, though as you all know, Chris is ready to go back full force! Annie is doing really well, too, working hard as always.

Still investigating one trial at MDAnderson; there are many details that have to come together before Chris would commit to the trial, so we'll see where that goes. Chris has already done the "gold standard" treatment, as his doctor likes to put it, which is always nice to hear.

We're all looking forward to the next visit from el senor Lucas. He will hopefully come up from Cabo in the spring to hang out with Uncle Kiki and Auntie Nannie and the rest of the crew.

Thanks again for all of your support.

Take care,

YM
